Ali Xeeshan’s collection for PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week 2016 was titled as “Khamoshi which was showcased on the 3rd day of Grand Finale of the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Couture Week 2016.
Based on Ali Xeeshan’s collection Khamoshi, this film by Abdullah Haris awakens a powerful message on the millions of forced underage marriages that take place in Pakistan and the rest of the world every year. The innocence of these girls is snatched away from them and their childhood is betrayed by their own families. The silent cries are heard by no one, and they weep until there is no choice left but to resign to fate.
And that is when their silence, and of those around them who know that a wrong is being committed, becomes deathly. (By Ali Xeeshan’s official fb page)
Fabrics such as organza, tilla, raw silk, adda work, pearls, heavy jwellery and traditional embroidery with gold. The colour palette shows us the combination of peach, ivory, acid green and powder blue.
There were smart paplum, pishwas frocks with churidar pijama, long dupatas with hand embellishing pearls on the four corners along with big floral patches. He introduced jackets or long coats, huge massive Pakistani tradition wedding caps for men, a lot of layering in one dress with heavy copper, gold and pearls embellishments. For the men there were 6 peices comprised of sherwani and waist coats.
Mahira Khan was selected to walk as the show stopper.
Lets have a look at the collection that was a huge success!

“My bridal collection is called “khamoshi” like how a tree stands alone in silence! I’ve made a tree out of this paper because my collection is growing like a tree. We planned a seed and it blossomed into an entire collection. This is an abstract or maybe an artistic take on a growing tree. Our collection is growing and its developing day by day.” Said, Ali Xeeshan “.
The dark video shot beautifully by #AbdulHaris featuring #AmnaBabar highlighted underage marriages and misery deafining silence of the bride amidst the celebrations. It showed how the bride has no say but the monkey responding to expectations as she’s been taught. In keeping with the powerful message Ali Xeeshan sent models down the ramp holding stuffed monkeys. #kamoshi stole the a peice of our heart. (By Paperazzi Magazine pk)
